Senator Chris Anyanwu, and Secretary to the Government of Imo State, Cosmas Iwu, have been announced as the co-chairmen of the transition committee for Governor Hope Uzodimma.
Uzodimma will, on Monday, January 15, be sworn in for a second term as governor of Imo State following his electoral victory at the November 11, 2023 governorship election.
Others on the committee include former Ambassador, Greg Mbadiwe; political stalwarts, Jerry Chukwueke; Eddy Anyanwu; Cosmos Maduba; Greg Owuananam; Charles Orie; Enyinnaya Onuegbu, and chairman of Imo chapter of ALGON, Willie Okoliogwo.
The transition committee is expected to plan the programme of activities for the swearing-in ceremony, which is expected to be graced by several personalities from within and outside the state.

Others included in the committee are the state chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Rev. Dr. Eches Divine Eches; five commissioners including Declan Emelumba (information), Raph Nwosu (works), Ruby Emele (local government and chieftaincy affairs), Nkechi Ugwu (gender and vulnerable group), and Chimezie Amadi.
Other members are the Chief of Staff to the governor, Nnamdi Anyaehie; the Imo State chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Macdonald Ebere; former Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly and Minister of Education (State), Goodluck Opiah; current deputy Speaker of Imo Assembly, Amara Iwuanyanwu; and two other former speakers, Maxwell Duru and Paul Emeziem.
It also has a current member of the House of Representatives, Eugene Dibiagwu; and former members, Nnanna Igbokwe, Ikenna Elezianya and Bede Ekeh; as well as Victor Murako, and Amarachi Nwoha,
Former secretary of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ray Emeana; Rev Philip Nwansi, Emeka Agbo, Uche Nwigwe, Austin Chilakpu, Ethelbert Nwachukwu, Eddy Anyanwu, Ethelbert Okere, Fidel Onyeneke, Leo Awaziama, Uche Diogu, Amaechi Nwaoha, Victor Muruako, Mike Uzodimma, and Sam Nwaire, are all members of the transition committee.
