Another US Assist Secretary of State in Nigeria to boost relations

Lee Satterfield, United States Assistant Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs, is in Nigeria and will visit Abuja and Lagos between March 17 and 22 to boost relations between Nigeria and America, as Washington has been doing in recent years.

While in Nigeria, Satterfield will advance key bilateral priorities, including expanding access to education and bolstering economic opportunities through the creative arts.

His trip to builds on a recent visit by Secretary of State Antony Blinken and reinforces the commitment of the Biden-Harris Administration to Africa by focusing on people-to-people connections between Americans and Nigerians. 

Satterfield’s visit will also build on that of last year by Wally Adeyemi, US Deputy Secretary of Treasury, Wally Adeyemo, a Nigerian-American.
