Ancelotti explains why he can’t coach Barcelona

Ancelotti said he cannot join La Liga league leaders, Barcelona because of their history with league champions, Real Madrid

Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti has named the only club in world football he will not be able to coach during his managerial career.

According to the Italian tactician, it will be impossible for him to manage La Liga league leaders, Barcelona because of their history with their arch-rivals and league champions, Real Madrid.

Ancelotti made this known while addressing reporters ahead of his side’s La Liga home match against Villarreal on Saturday, April 8.

Explaining why he would never be able to join the Blaugrana he said: “I’d never join Barcelona in my life, impossible. No way. My history is here at Real Madrid, the best club in the world. People love me here.”

The 63-year-old coach has managed Real Madrid twice in his long career, helping them to lift the UEFA Champions League (UCL) in 2014 and 2022. 

He has also led Los Blancos to this season’s Copa del Rey final where they will play Osasuna after annihilating Barcelona 4-0 in the second leg of the semi-final of the cup competition inside the Spotify Camp Nou.

Real Madrid are currently 12 points adrift of Barcelona with eleven games more to play this campaign.
