Ancelotti blocked Ronaldo’s return to Real Madrid 

Ancelotti and Ronaldo once worked together at Real Madrid, they won the Champions League trophy in the 2013-2014 season

Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti has been fingered as the person who stopped Manchester United striker, Cristiano Ronaldo from returning for a second spell at the Santiago Bernabeu. 

According to El Nacional, the Italian tactician reportedly refused a deal for Ronaldo and threatened to leave if the five-time Ballon d’Or winner returned.

The future of the Portuguese international at Old Trafford became uncertain during the summer transfer window.

The 37-year-old looked certain to leave Old Trafford after one season as Man United failed to qualify for this season’s UEFA Champions League.

Ronaldo wanted to play in the UEFA elite competition, Champions League, where he is the all-time top goalscorer with 140 goals.

His agent Jorge Mendes, during the transfer window, assessed the player’s options across Europe and opted to settle for a return to Real Madrid.

Real Madrid fans still have fond memories of the glorious years that Ronaldo spent in Spain, where in 438 games, he scored 450 goals and provided 131 assists, winning four Champions League trophies with the Los Blancos.

However, according to the report, Ancelotti did not want that to happen and he made sure he blocked the move. 

Meanwhile, Ronaldo and Ancelotti had previously worked together at Real Madrid, they won the Champions League trophy in the 2013-2014 season.
