Real Madrid boss, Carlo Ancelotti has insisted that his team will win a major laurel this season despite trailing their arch-rivals, Barcelona in the league.

The La Liga champions are still in three competitions ahead of their El Clasico clash against Barcelona at Nou Camp on Sunday.

Ancelotti’s men go into the encounter 9 points adrift of league leaders and will play west London club, Chelsea in the UEFA Champions League (UCL) quarter-finals.

The Los Blancos are also hoping to turn around a 1-0 first-leg deficit in their Copa del Rey semi-final against Barca.

When told that Madrid’s high standards demanded winning either La Liga, the Copa del Rey or the Champions League, Ancelotti told reporters: “Rules change!

“And unwritten rules too. But I’m convinced that we’ll win something this season, so that’s that.”

Barcelona go into the encounter against Real Madrid on Sunday, nine points ahead of them and can take a 12-point lead if they win at home.

However, a victory for the visitors will mean the gap between the two clubs will be reduced to six with 12 matches to go.
