American rapper and record producer, Artis Leon Ivey Jr, better known as Coolio has died at the age of 59.
The singer famous for his hit song ‘Gangsta’s Paradise’ on the soundtrack of the Michelle Pfeiffer film, Dangerous Minds died on Wednesday, September 28.
According to TMZ, Coolio was visiting a friend in the afternoon of that day when he was found dead in his house.
He was later found unresponsive on a bathroom floor with paramedics who were called suspecting he suffered a cardiac arrest.
The report also indicated that the EMTs pronounced the west coast legend dead at the scene, but an official cause of death has not been determined.

Law enforcement sources, however, told the publication that “no drugs or drug paraphernalia were found at the scene of Coolio’s death” and that “an autopsy and toxicology test will be used to determine an official cause of death.”
The police have also reportedly opened a death investigation, even though there do not seem to be signs of foul play yet, the coroner is expected to make a final determination after the autopsy.

Pfeiffer, 64, led tributes to the rapper, sharing the music video for Coolio’s smash hit Gangsta’s Paradise, from their iconic 1995 film.
He wrote, “Heartbroken to hear of the passing of the gifted artist @coolio. A life cut entirely too short.”
