As sports stakeholders and friends continued their tributes to Late Hon. Ekene Abubakar Adams, Chairman house Committee on sports following his demise, the Kaduna Pepsi Football Academy was the latest to pay their tribute where Ekene Adams once played his football back in the day.
Dr. Alex Mana, (an accomplished football referee,) gave the tribute unbehalf of the academy to the deseased family.
He said Hon Ekene Abubakar Adams otherwise known as Ekene was a dedicated colleague, a mentor and friend.
“His passion for football and commitment to the academy was inspiring and where most players are now.
“His legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched and the future he helped to shape in many players.
“The Academy will forever miss his wisdom, guidance, and infectious smile in every thing he was desirous of.
“As we pray that your soul shall now rest in peace. Indeed we also pray that your memory will be cherished forever.You were amongst the best of our first sets of the Pepsi Academy players and the foremost Academy in Nigeria, founded by another famous Coach Kashimawo Laloko of Blessed Memory, After you came the fantastic sets of players like: Soga Sambo, Osaze Odemwinge, Ambruse Vanzekin to the sets of Mikel John Obi of the Jos centre others included: Joseph Akpala, Onyekachi Apam, Solomon Okoronkwo and countless others who scartered the football scenes of the entire length and breadth of Nigeria that came after you with the Kaduna Centre then as a centre of excellence, you became just what we thought and knew you will later go on to be.
“An accomplished Sports (Football) “PARHTFINDER” per excellence that navigated from one formative stage to the other from Club Manager to the highest of it all, as Chairman of our country’s House of representatives Committee on Sports. Adieu and rest on by his bosom till we all meet to part no more. Indeed you accomplished your cherished desires here on Mother Earth.”
