In what appears to be a highly planned cover up, Andrew Amaechi, a suspect in the disappearance of two friends, Celine Ndudim and Afiba Tandoh in Aba, Abia State, has been killed in police custody.

Nigerian activist, Harrison Gwamnishu made the disclosure on Saturday, saying the police claimed Andrew was killed while trying to escape.

Andrew was arrested by police in Aba amid excitement that he would disclose the location of his victims – Celine Ndudim and Afiba Tandoh.

Gwamnishu, who said Andrew was a ‘confirmed member of an organ harvesting syndicate,’ said the case was transferred to Abuja. It was during the transportation of the suspect that he allegedly attempted to escape leading to his killing. It is not clear why he was not handcuffed while on the trip. In any case, not many Nigerians believe the escape tale.

Andrew lured women with promises of having a good time in his palatial six-bedroom apartment in Aba before allegedly snuffing the life out of them.

Celine and her Ghanaian friend, Afiba, were declared missing after they traveled from Port Harcourt to Aba on April 27, 2024 to see him after meeting on Facebook.

Gwamnishu shared a video which the suspect sent to Celine, inviting her and Afiba to Aba.

In the video, the suspect boasted about his “beautiful mansion”

He said in the video: “Hi Celine, how are you? How have you been? How was your trip? You have to bring your friend. I ‘m in Aba now. I live in Aba. I ‘ve got a new office here. I live in this great big mansion. Got six bedrooms. So let’s talk. I will send some money. Just get a taxi, an Uber, a bolt. Come spend the next few nights with your friend. We will have fun. Go out. Have some food, okay. Yeah, I live in a beautiful beautiful house,” he said.

Mr. Gwamnishu also revealed that the suspect sent similar videos to other ladies, including one Amaka, but she declined his invitation.

After his arrest, Gwamnishu on Friday, May 31, said the sum of N1million was withdrawn from one of the women’s bank accounts.
