Nollywood actor, Alexx Ekubo, has seemingly backed the Nigeria Police Force’s assertion that the trending 2024 slogan, ‘No gree for anybody’, could breed violence in the country.
Prior to this, the police had issued a stern warning about the popular slogan, cautioning that its widespread usage among the youth could lead to crises of monumental proportions in the country.
Speaking on the issue, Police spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi said: “The new slogan for 2024 for young people is ‘no dey gree for anybody”.
He added. “We have been informed from our intelligence that this is coming from the retributory sector that might likely cause problems across the country.”

Reacting to the trending slogan on Monday in a post shared on his Instagram page, Ekubo warned against its usage.
According to the thespian, the slang could breed violence and foster revenge culture in Nigeria, adding that everyone is fighting a battle.
Alexx Ekubo said: “I took time out to introspect. As I crawl out of my solemn place, I can see the same negativity and gbas gbos that have stunted our progress.
“Please what is ‘No gree for anybody’ that I’m seeing everywhere? It is breeding violence and fostering revenge culture.
“Can we instead be more tolerable and considerate towards others? Be kind, everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. We are raised under different circumstances, with different degrees of luck.”
‘No gree for anybody’ slogan became viral in Nigeria’s online space at the beginning of 2024.
Many people and institutions in the country have adopted its usage, however, it has remained a controversial slogan.
