Champions League-chasing West Ham United defeated relegation-threatened Everton 2-1 at London Stadium after an error from Alex Iwobi
Despite being the better side in the first half it was West Ham, who opened the scoring when Aaron Cresswell scored a brilliant free-kick in the 32nd minute.
The visitors restored parity in the 53rd minute when Mason Holgate scored after Richarlison held off a defender and poked the ball to him
West Ham retook the lead after Alex Iwobi’s poor touch allowed them to send Michail Antonio in on goal. His low shot was saved by Jordan Pickford, only to send the ball to Jarrod Bowen, who converted it.

It got from bad to worse for Everton when Michael Keane was dismissed in the 65th minute for the second bookable offence after his clumsy and late tackle on Michail Antonio on the edge of the box.
The win is an important one for West Ham, who moved back into fifth position and above Spurs on goal difference. They are also three points adrift of Arsenal in fourth, though they have played three games more.
For the visitors, it’s another damaging loss, as they miss out on the chance to pull away from the bottom three, making the game against fellow Strugglers, Burnley on Wednesday a must-win.
