Newcastle United legend and former England striker, Alan Shearer has said North London club, Arsenal, will likely finish in the top four of Premier League (PL) this season.

Shearer believes Arsenal, who finished fifth last season, will go a step further this season and sneak into the Champions League places alongside Manchester United and Chelsea.

The Gunners are on top of the PL table with one point ahead of Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in the second position while Spurs are in third place.

Arsenal are also the only Premier side to have won 6 of their seven games this season.

Man United and Chelsea also currently occupied the fifth and seventh positions, respectively.

However, following their brilliant start to the new season, Shearer thinks Mikel Arteta’s men will defy his start-of-the-season expectations.

“I think I might say Arsenal,” Shearer told ViaPlay (as per HITC Sport).

“It has slightly changed from the beginning of the season. But on the evidence I have seen from Manchester United and Chelsea, then I think Arsenal might sneak in there as well.”
