Newcastle United legend, Alan Shearer has praised the level of fitness of Arsenal forward, Gabriel Jesus after battling with knee injuries.
The former England forward while speaking ahead of the Gunners’ North London derby against arch rivals, Tottenham on ‘The Rest is Football’ podcast (h/t HITC), said the Brazil international is looking ‘sharp’ once again after a spell on the sidelines.
Jesus underwent knee surgery, after injuring his knee while on international duty with Brazil’s national team last December, forcing Arsenal to sign Leandro Trossard from Brighton in January.
Again, at the start of the 2023/24 season, the 26-year-old Brazilian was once again sidelined for a brief period after another injury.

However, the former Man City striker has since returned to first-team action and has featured in all of Arsenal’s last four games across all competitions.
Jesus was handed his first start of the season in the UEFA Champions League group-stage opener against PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday, September 20.
He rewarded his manager by putting his name on the scoresheet in the 38th minute as Mikel Arteta’s side thrashed their Dutch visitors 4-0 at Emirates Stadium.
Allan Shearer while speaking on the Brazillian form during the recent podcast chat, said he is looking sharp and added that Arsenal are looking very good as a team.
“He [Jesus] is back, he is looking sharp, he is looking fresh, and I think Arsenal have got a really, really good squad,” he said.
Jesus will hope to lead Arsenal to victory when they host Tottenham this weekend in a Premier League derby.
