Akoko North West LG count gains under Elder Ayodele Akande as Chairman

Akoko North West Local government area of Ondo state (AKNWLG) is no doubt, counting its gains under the leadership of Elder Samson Ayodele Akande as her Governing Council Chairman.

The local government which became the bride and toast of the day, commissioned some projects which were the brainchild of its Council Chairman, Elder Akande worth several millions of naira

The projects include a newly constructed bridge at Aje/Ajuwa Grammar School, Okeagbe, Construction of culvert at Ogbagi, Drilling of hand pump borehole in the following towns, Irun – (2), Arigidi- (2), Okeagbe – (1, Ajowa -(2), Erusu- (1), .Ajowa -(1) and Afin-(1).

Others are Grading of over 300kms of roads in various locations of the Local Government, Repair of the Multipurpose Hall of the Local Government, Construction of the Staff canteen in the Secretariat that was razed by fire and Repair of the bad and abandoned grader 140h CAT.

Speaking at the commissioning of the projects, Akande expressed his administration’s commitment to deliver on the dividends of democracy to the people saying that his administration had kept its promise to improve the quality of life of the people and drive massive socio-economic growth through infrastructure upgrade and renewal.

He said that he has been able to carry the people along by shunning divisive tendency that could disrupt continuity in governance saying that the projects cutting across various sectors of significance to the people and have impact on their lives.

He also expressed gratitude to Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for giving the necessary support when required. “I owe an immense debt of gratitude to His Excellency our dynamic and able Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN) for his continuous support for our administration and allowing the people to elect their leaders through free and fair elections in the state.

“I pray that the Almighty God will lay His healing hands on him and bring him back home safely in Jesus Name.

“You will recall that almost three years ago we were elected as Chairman, Vice Chairman and Councilors to paddle the leadership of our beautiful and peaceful Local Government. In the course of our electioneering campaign, we had the privilege to transverse the length and breadth of the Local Government touring all the 10 wards.

“This singular act gave us the opportunity to see and listen to the heart felt needs of our people. It was at these meetings that I made up my mind to change the developmental landscape of our Local Government and to equally improve the living standards of our people. While we acknowledged the immense efforts made by the State Government under the able leadership of our Mr. talk and do Governor in meeting the
yearnings of the people.

“We also recognize that each tier of Government has a role to play as such we resolved to play our part by facilitating projects that will impact on the lives of our people. Let me at this juncture inform this gathering that it will be out of place if we leave the office without creating an opportunity to render our stewardship before our tenure finally comes to an end,” he said

Akande however appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo as Minister of Interior of the federal Republic of Nigeria.

Commending the Council Chairman, the Ewi of Aje of. Okeagbe, Oba Oloruntoba Bello and other community leaders expressed their appreciation for the projects in their areas, which they said would greatly benefit them.
