Akinmusayo, Akinnuoye arrested for kidnapping Chinese national

Two suspects, Adegbayi Akinmusayo and Lucky Akinnuoye have been arrested by police detectives in Ondo State for kidnapping a 25-year-old Chinese national, Jiang Peng Fei.

The suspects were picked up before they could settle down to negotiate the ransom to be paid for the freedom of their victim.

The office of the victim, JHX Plywood factory, is located at Akinfosile, Omotosho in Ore town.

The suspects had visited the plywood company two days earlier, posing as its customers who wanted to buy plywood.

Unknown to the workers, the suspects actually came on a surveillance of the offices, especially that of the target, nicknamed “Ginger” by his workers.

A dependable police source said the two suspected kidnappers, armed with locally made pistols, stormed the office of the Chinese national at about 5pm and whisked him away to their hideout.

Ondo police swung into action and through a well-coordinated operation, was able to rescue the victim unhurt and arrested one of the suspects in their hideout.

Akinnuoye, described by the police as the prime suspect, was arrested in his hotel where the suspects lodged for four days before carrying out the crime.

The police command spokesman Femi Joseph, said Akinnuoye was Manager of Keneri Hotel, Ore.

Joseph said the suspects put up and planned their operation in the hotel.
