Cherubim & Seraphim Churches are pious, but fake prophets drag its name and congregation in the mud, according to Prelate and Supreme Head, Motailatu Church Cherubim & Seraphim Worldwide, Israel Akinadewo.

He said there are both genuine and fake prophets in the church.

Roman Catholic faithful slam the producer of Pope Must Hear This, a Nollywood movie exposing the corruption of Catholicism by those who are not called by God into priesthood.

A section of the Anglican Church, especially in Nigeria, is not happy with homosexuality which is tolerated by some Anglican parishes, especially in Europe and America.

In the Pentecostal fold, deviation from the real Gospel in preference for materialism is no more news. And the late Francis Agu highlighted it in his movie, In the Name of the Father.

All these are about corruption in the house of God, and Akinadewo said the Cherubim & Seraphim Church is not immune to it.

He made the point at Motailatu Church Cherubim & Seraphim international headquarters (Sanctuary Chapel), Sangotedo in Ajah, Lagos during a memorial service for his father, Isaiah Motailatu, founder of the church.

There was also a thanksgiving service for the inauguration of Akinadewo.

In his sermon entitled “God’s Enigmatic Parameters: Do the Ministers have a Choice?” he affirmed that God is called God because no one can be compared to Him.

“You cannot see Him, but if you carefully search for Him, you will feel His presence in your life. He does things which no man can ever contemplate doing.

“He set His own standard which He expects us to attain, without which we will not have rest of mind. God cannot lower his standard because of any man,” Akinadewo reiterated.

Later at a reception, he introduced a book he wrote in honour of his father entitled Prophecies and the Messenger: The Lion of Judah Way.

A musical album released by the church choir entitled Ipe Emi was also launched.

“Those who use calabash or other fetish objects for worship are not prophets of Cherubim & Seraphim; they are prophets of Satan,” he insisted.

Aladura and other ‘white garment’ churches are often accused of fetishism, as their fake prophets use negative spiritual powers to defraud miracle-seekers.

Akinadewo said his father despised idolatry and pagan worship and taught him not to associate with anything that has to do with idolatry, even kolanut.
