The Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Aketedolu SAN has been commended for the formation of Amotekun Security Network Agency to tackle rising insecurity in the state.

In a statement issued and signed by the Chairman, Forum of Former Special Assistants (FFSA), Bisiriyu Oyelade, in Akure, the state capital noted that Akeredolu investment in the security of lives and property would ensure a lasting peace in the state.

“We note with pride your initiatives on Amotekun and it’s attendant security initiative as well as massive Construction and rehabilitation of the roads networks in Ondo state,” the group said.

The group stressed that without security, no meaningful development could take place in the state.

The group said Akeredolu government has done a lot for the people of the state most especially the farmers by providing security to curb the regular conflicts between farmers and herders.

It said: “Herdsmen attacks on farmers in the state had posed the greatest challenge to security of lives and property which was appropriately addressed by Akeredolu.

“The giant strides that Ondo state has made during your time have been impactful and worthy of saccharine encomium.

“Your vision and mission to say the least, has put Ondo state in the Nations and humanity’s reckoning.

The group also lauded Governor Akeredolu for diversifying the state economy by looking for alternative ways of revenue generation for developmental purposes.

“Your upscaling of the economic and financial status of Ondo state as witnessed by the increased Internally Generated Revenue from a paltry N700million to N2.2billion is highly commendable.

“You are indeed our own ‘Omo Amuyangan’.
We would like to inform also that you will be conferred with the much deserved ‘Omo Amuyangan of the south West’ Award in no distant time,” the statement added.
