Akeredolu appoints Deji Of Akure, new chairman, Ondo Council Of Obas

Following the expiration of the tenure of the immediate past Chairman of Ondo Council of Obas, Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has approved the reconstituting of the council and appointment of the Deji of Akure, His Royal Majesty, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi as the new Chairman of the council.

A press statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor , Richard Olatunde, said the tenure of the new Chairman starts today September 14, 2021.

Oba Aladelusi will replace the immediate past Chairman of the council, Oba (Dr.) Fredrick Eniolorunda Obateru Akinruntan, Olugbo of Ugbo, who was appointed on the 13th September, 2019, following the expiration of his two-year single term tenure.

According to the press statement issued , Governor Akeredolu praised the erstwhile Chairman, the Olugbo of Ugbo, for performing excellently and giving all necessary support to ensure that the good people of Ondo State enjoy good governance.

He urges the new chairman to improve on the record of his predecessor by working harmoniously with other Obas in the state and the government in ensuring the state develops.

The Deji of Akure , whose regnal name is “Odundun ll” is the 47th Deji to assume the throne, he was crowned on July 17, 2015, after the demise of Oba Adegboye Adebiyi Adesida .
