The Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, says he regretted making Honorable Agboola Ajayi as his deputy, describing him as a wrong choice.

Ajayi had recently decamped to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to actualize his long ambition of becoming the Governor of the state.

Akeredolu, while expressing his feeling at Igbekebo, the headquarters of Ese-Odo local government area during his “meet the delegates” tour said his decision of the choice of Agboola Ajayi as his Deputy was an error.

Akeredolu said despite the criticism and attack from various quarters alleging that Ajayi is his cousin, he felt that he had made a choice but a wrong choice.

He went on “But let me say that Ajayi’s exit from the party is a cleansing for the better performance of the party”.

Akeredolu urged the people of the local government not to bother about the embattled deputy governor who has left the progressive family for the PDP.

Akeredolu thanked members and leaders of the party in Ese-Odo for standing firm and not leaving the APC with Ajayi, adding that it shows that his decision was not acceptable to the people.

Governor Akeredolu therefore appealed to the party delegates to vote for him at the primary election of the party on Monday, adding that he was prepared to do more for the people of the state
