Former Aston Villa striker, Gabriel Agbonlahor has said Brazilian midfielder, Philippe Coutinho was responsible for the sack of Liverpool legend, Steven Gerrard.
He made the comment while speaking on talkSPORT, where he insisted the 30-year-old midfielder needs to apologise to Gerrard for how poorly he has played this season.
The former Rangers boss was given the boot as Aston Villa manager after his side were defeated 3-0 by Fulham at Craven Cottage on Thursday evening.

The loss meant Aston Villa have won only 2 out of 11 Premier League matches they have played so far this season.
Reacting to Gerrard’s sack, Agbonlahor asserted Coutinho’s performances for Aston Villa this season contributed to him losing his job.
Agbonlahor said, “Coutinho was his [Gerrard] man and he didn’t perform for him.
“Coutinho owes Gerrard an apology for the way he performed, Gerrard backed him.”
Coutinho moved to Villa Park in January and started under Gerrard, who played an influential role in bringing him back to England from La Liga giants, Barcelona.
