The fourth edition of the Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF), which entries should have closed on June 30, is still accepting entries till July 24.

Organisers of the festival that will hold between November 9 and 16 at Tinapa, Calabar, Cross River State, said eligible films must have been produced after January 1, 2013 and preference will be given to films which are yet to be screened globally or in Africa.

Categories for entry include feature, short documentary and animation, with monetary award ranging from $3000 to $6,000. Short films, the organisers said, should be only 40 minutes long or less, while feature length films should run for more than 40 minutes.

Those who intend to have their films considered for the festival must include a DVD copy of the film, plus a synopsis and/or press kit as soon as possible. While completing an entry form is required, film-makers can find detailed entry guidelines on the organisers’ website, Facebook page and group.

AFRIFF, a platform that seeks to give expression to African cinema by recognising and rewarding excellence in the industry, is accepting late entries until July 24 well past the original deadline of June 30.
