It was joyous in Akure, the Ondo State Capital as Olumuyiwa Adu Foundation (OAF) empowers at least 5,000 rural dwellers with cash in Akure South and Akure North Federal Constituency.
The Founder of the philanthropy, Barrister Olumuyiwa Adu, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the last Bye-election in Akure Federal Constituency, said the gesture was to help boost their petty trade and also start new businesses.
Adu said the empowerment programme of OAF has been on for a while, and that it was aimed to boost the socio-economic activities of the rural areas of the Constituency.

The House of Representatives Hopeful further explained that the empowerment programme is an ongoing activity of the OAF, saying that all rural areas in the Constituency will benefit from this noble gesture.
One of the beneficiaries who identified herself as Madam Beatrice Omodunbi thanked Barrister Olumuyiwa Adu for the gesture pointing out that the Foundation empowerment programme will impact positively on the life of the beneficiaries.
“We are so pleased with this and cannot thank Hon. Olumuyiwa Adu enough. This indeed is a noble gesture,” she added.
