A Philanthropist and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the House of Representatives in the Akure North/South bye-election, Barrister Olumuyiwa Adu, has empowered over 2,000 youths and adults in Akure South and Akure North Local government areas of Ondo state to become entrepreneurs and run successful businesses, as part of efforts to trim unemployment rate in the country

This is just as the PDP candidate took his time to visit PDP members and supporters that were injured by APC thugs in Akure North during the last bye-election and also gave them cash to take care of their hospital bills.

The empowerment gesture was in line with his monthly charitable outreach to caring for poor and indigent people in society.

The House of Representatives PDP candidate who was moving around the two local government areas said the gesture was part of his contribution to the society pointing out that he was moved by a large number of indigent people within the councils.

“This is what I have been doing on monthly basis to enable them to start small businesses and I promise to increase the number of beneficiaries.

“My ultimate desire in life is to continue to be a blessing to the nation. God has blessed me and I can only appreciate God by being a source of blessing to people I come in contact with.

“Whatever I have achieved today is by the grace of God. Wealth and blessings; all come from God, and we can only use them to advance the cause of humanity,” Olumuyiwa Adu said.

On why he chose more women as the main beneficiaries of his empowerment project, Olumuyiwa Adu explained that women play very critical roles in the family and empowering them is indirectly empowering the family.

Appreciating Hon. Adu for his kindness, one of the beneficiaries simply known as Mrs Bosede Adebayo thanked him for his constant visit and empowerment of indigent women and Youths in the area and prayed to God to make Olumuyiwa Adu member, House of Representatives representing the people of Akure South and Akure North Federal constituency so that he can touch more lives in the area.
