Adefarasin apologises to Lagos govt after church booed Sanwo-Olu’s rep

Lagos government official, once he mounted the rostrum, the crowd at The Experience, booed him throughout his presentation

Yesterday’s  The Experience, an annual Christian programme hosted in Lagos by Pastor Paul Adefarasin of House on the Rock, ended with a sour experience for the Lagos State government and the organisers.

The event, which features renowned gospel artistes from Nigeria and abroad, was held a few days after the Lagos State government issued a White Paper that exonerated the military of killing unarmed protesters at Lekki Tollgate during the #EndSARS protest.

At The Experience, the Lagos State government was represented by one of its officials. And it is traditional for the government representative to deliver a goodwill speech.

When the official mounted the rostrum, the crowd booed him throughout his presentation.

The behaviour unsettled the organisers, especially  Adefarasin who afterwards  apologized to the Lagos State government.

Adefarasin, displeased with the crowd’s behavior,  cautioned youths to pray for leaders in order for peace to reign in the country.

“I must honestly caution that we must pray for those who lead us that we may dwell peacefully in the land

“You must never disrespect authority because they beat the sword.

“I apologise to the leaders of Lagos state on your behalf,” Pastor Adefarasin said.
