The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has renamed his church’s popular prayer ground along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
According to the pastor, the camp, which is a sprawling settlement of halls and residences of the faithful, will now be known as Redemption City.
He made the announcement at the end of the Church Ministers’ Conference, while intimating the members of the church, that pastors who have reached the age of 70 years will be retiring.
Adeboye further said the Redemption Camp will henceforth carry the tag of a city, just like the Vatican City in Rome.

While some other roads were named after some retired pastors of the church.
The Redeemed Christian Church of God is one of Nigeria’s churches, which has continued to grow in lips and bounds.
Adeboye, who left his job as a university lecturer to become the General Overseer in the early 1980s, once lived in a room in Mushin, a suburb of Lagos because of the weak financial position of the church.
