Adeboye launches RCCG’s football club, Dove FC

Adeboye speaking at the unveiling ceremony admonished the players to deemphasize money and focus on God

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye has unveiled the church’s football club, Dove FC.

According to the clergyman, the move by the church is part of its evangelism strategy aimed at discharging youths from engaging in criminal activities. 

Dove FC which was unveiled at the Redeemed Camp in Lagos State at the weekend, comprised players between the ages of 16-21, who were carefully selected from the six geo-political zones of the country.

These players according to the church, are expected to be prepared for a possible professional career.

Speaking at the event, Pastor Adeboye admonished the selected players to deemphasize money and focus more on serving God.

He said: “Winning is by God’s divine and not by might. To be a winner, you must have God by your side.”

Also addressing journalists at the event, the chairman of Dove FC, Prince Dapo Ajibade said the establishment of the team is for the church to break new grounds.

He went on to assert that the club with the help of God and support of Pastor Adeboye, will go on to become the biggest brand in the country. 

“By the special grace of God and with the support of the GO, Dove FC will expand to become the biggest brand in the world,” Ajibade claimed.
