Adamawa supplementary: PDP warns APC against manipulation

…says the wrath of the people awaits election riggers

By Valentine Amanze

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has cautioned the All Progressives

Congress (APC) and its thugs against rigging and violence during the Thursday, March 28, 2019 supplementary election in Adamawa State.

The opposition party also accused the ruling party of procuring the services of thugs to reenact their Kano rigging

template in the  Governorship Supplementary election in

Adamawa State, warning that any of such, would be resisted by the people.

The PDP further revealed that it had full details of how the APC hired thugs and miscreants from other states with instructions to cause confusion,

invade polling units, disrupt the electoral process, snatch ballot boxes, engage in ballot stuffing and assist the APC to allocate votes for its candidate, with the assistance of compromised INEC and security agents.

The PDP, through its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, also alleged that the APC has cloned Permanent

Voter Cards (PVCs), which it plans to use to manipulate the process for

its candidate.

The PDP stated: “Our field agents, who have been on the alert, have full knowledge of the planned movements of the APC thugs and our members and supporters are

ready to resist them and use all means, necessary and legitimate, to defend our votes, even in this supplementary election.

“By law, our candidate, Ahmed Fintiri, has since March 9, 2019, won the Adamawa State governorship election, having

scored the highest number of valid votes and secured the statutory 25 per cent in two-third of the state. This validates the known fact that Adamawa State is home to the PDP and this supplementary election, though

unnecessary, will reinforce our victory.”

The party, therefore, directed its members and supporters to come out en-mass to vote and defend their votes from the polling unit to

collation and the final announcement of results.

The opposition party also advised the INEC officials to note and respect the will of the

people of Adamawa State and resist all inducements by the APC to

manipulate the process, as such is capable of pitching the people against the commission.
