Nollywood veteran, Ejike Asiegbu has commended the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) for introducing health insurance scheme for Nigerian actors.

Asiegbu, who was a former President of AGN, said that the creation of access for actors to Medicare Health Management Services, was a step in the right direction.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria which quoted Asiegbu, the scheme would make members of AGN have a sense of belonging and assurance of their health and general wellbeing.

“I must commend the AGN board led by Mr Emeka Rollas for coming up with this wonderful health insurance scheme; it is going to help members a great deal.

”This is responsibility, care and compassion in action. It went the extra mile to capture family members of actors in the scheme.

“It’s going to be a great relief as it will create opportunity for the beneficiaries to enjoy almost free health care in the AGN family,” Asiegbu said.

The popular movie star added that the development would bring dignity in the industry, making the AGN a force to reckon with.

Asiegbu advised actors across the nation to key into the project.

”The platform is now open, and I am urging members to take advantage of this special scheme for themselves and their families to give more attention to their health.

”They can avert some health related issues by doing the needful,” he added. (NAN)
