Actor, Damilola Ogunsi, claps back at fan who mistook him for a whiteman, says ‘I’m blacker than anyone’

Popular Nollywood actor, Damilola Ogunsi has clapped back at a fan of a TV series, Anikulapo: Rise of the Spectre’, after he erroneously accused the movie director of casting “a white” as angel, insisting he is a blackman despite his looks.

The viewer identified on X, as @Ohjay1 while sharing a clip from a scene from the series where the protagonist, Saro (played by Kunle Remi) met an angel (played by Damilola Ogunsi) at the gates of heaven, tweeted: “This thing has to stop, why use white as angel inside black movie #Anikulapo.”

Not pleased by the comment made by the netizen, Ogunsi, who is an albino, took to social media to say it feels good not to be recognised in the series..

He, however, added that he is “blacker” than anyone in the scene of the new TV series.

Reposting the viewer’s tweet, the thespian wrote: “Feels good not to be recognized.

“I’m sure I’m ‘blacker’ than anyone in that scene.”

Damilola Ogunsi who is popularly known by his stage name ‘Gold Fish’ started acting as a teenager.

The actor left the banking sector about seven years ago as a mid-level management executive to focus on acting.

Since taking a role in ‘The Tribunal’, a movie by Kunle Afolayan, in 2017, he has continued to enjoy fame in the movie industry.

The 45 year old thespian has been featured in many popular movies such as ‘Mokalik’, ‘Finding Hubby’ and ‘Gangs of Lagos’.
