The public enquiry into the alleged mismanagement of public funds at the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) took a frightening turn on Monday when the acting Managing Director of the Commission, Professor Kemebradikumo Pondei, fainted during the sitting of the House of Representatives Committee on NDDC.
He fainted while answering questions from members of the committee in the presence of the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Mr. Godswill Akpabio, who was also ordered to appear and make presentations before the committee.
As a result, the sitting was hurriedly suspended for 30 minutes while Professor Pondei was rushed out for medical attention.
