The Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Chinedum Orji, has described the demise of former military administrator of Lagos and Imo states  Rear Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu (rtd), as huge loss to Abia and Nigeria.

The Speaker lamented that Kanu died at the time his experience and counsel as an accomplished soldier and a seasoned administrator was needed most in both Abia State and Nigeria.

While condoling the family,  Orji prayed God to grant his soul eternal rest and avail his family and Nigerians the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Rear Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu (rtd) died on Wednesday at the age of 78 in a private hospital after a brief illness.

In the same vein, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and former Group Managing Director (GMD), Diamond Bank Plc, Dr. Alex Otti, has expressed sadness over the death of Kanu.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Ferdinand Ekeoma, on Friday, Otti said that the death came to him as a shock because the late statesman spoke with him a few days before the end of 2020, and regretted that death took the retired military administrator of Lagos and Imo states when the nation needed to tap more from his experience as a nationalist and an accomplished senior Nigerian military officer.

He described Kanu as a thoroughbred soldier and consistent fighter for equity, justice and fairness, who dedicated his last days to work for the restructuring of the country.

Otti condoled  Kanu’s wife, Mrs Gladys Ndubuisi Kanu, the entire family and the people of Isuikwuato on the passage of the Rear Admiral, and prayed to God for the repose of his soul.
