The Abia State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Johnson Onuigbo, has assured returnees from other political parties to PDP of a level playing ground and equal right.
He said, “No imposition of candidates in the next coming election in the state.”
Onuigbo gave the assurance at the party secretariat while addressing members of the party who left for other parties and came back.
He regretted their absence in the last general election, adding that their absence was a big blow to PDP in the state.
He enjoined them to feel free and throw their weight behind PDP to win the 2019 election.
The chairman described APC and APGA as parties that were not deep-rooted in Abia, adding that those who defected to them will regret leaving the Peoples Democratic Party. “Now that you have come back, feel free and work with your whole mind and the party will accord you the needed recognition’’.
Also, the deputy Chairman of the party, Chief Princewill Onyegbu, thanked the returnees for making a U-Turn to PDP and advised them to close ranks, integrate with the party and work to ensure the success of PDP in 2019.
Those, who returned to PDP include Ndubueze Enyioko, Hon. Kelechi Nwankpa, Hon. Silvanus Nwaji, Chief James Akwukwaegbu, Chief Jonny Ukpabi, Hon Uche Enyioke, Prince Enyinnaya Ubani.
Others are Dr. Emmanuel Ibelegbu, Mrs. Duruoha Christiana, Chief Damian Ozurumba and Chief Ude Eme Obike.
