Dr. Orji Kalu

Abia State Governor, Chief Theodore Orji has dedicated the Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) award conferred on him by President Goodluck Jonathan to Abians for their support to the policies and programmes of his administration.

Orji who stated this while addressing Abia Stakeholders who came to pay him homage at the Governor’s Lodge, Abuja, after the award ceremony, said he would not have accomplished much to qualify for such national honour if not for the support of the people.

He said that he had been challenged to post more legacy achievements in the state before his exit in 2015.

Governor Orji said the award which was the first to be conferred on any Abia sitting Governor, called for celebration by all Abians who have faith in Abia cause.

The Governor also noted that more Abians for the first time received the national honours award at various categories because of his openness and magnanimity to nominate them.

He solicited more support of Abians in the transformation of the state as championed by his administration, vowing to leave the state better than he met it.

The Governor promised to continuously deploy the scarce resources of the state with prudence to achieve more results in the overall interest of the state.

“Governance is all about the people not for self aggrandizement,” he said while preaching continued unity among the people.”
