The governor was re-elected in the last governorship poll in the state with his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) winning virtually all available seats of both the national and state assemblies.

Abdulrazaq, according to a statement by the commissioner for communication, Abubakar Buhari, said members of the cabinet were instrumental to the success of his administration and victory of the APC in the last election in the state.
