The All Progressives Party (APC) in Kwara State has said that Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has been able to live above partisan interest and take bold decisions that have enabled him to run an inclusive governance for the benefit of the state in the last five years.

The party stated this while addressing reporters on the fifth anniversary of its government in the state as led by Abdulrazaq and other elected government functionaries from the party.

The APC took over the government of the state in 2019 when it won governorship and the entire seats in the House of Assembly in addition with the seats of the National Assembly from the state.

The party repeated the same feat in 2023 election and now celebrating its 5th anniversary in government.

Chairman of the APC, Sunday Fagbemi, who spoke on behalf of the party said Abdulrazaq lives above personal and partisan interest he has taken bold decisions for growth and development of the state.

“History will remember Govern Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq as a transformational leader who rose above personal and partisan interests to take bold decisions and pushed through progressive agenda for the growth and development of the state,” he stated.

Fagbemi mentioned both completed and on-going projects of the administration of the governor to include Tanke and Unity flyovers in Ilorin, rehabilitation of Ahmadu Bello Way, Ilorin Innovation Hub, garment factory, shea butter factory, industrial park, agroprocessing and other agricultural programmes to support foood security, international conference centre, visual arts centre, sugar film factory, transformative education projects and programmes, numerous completed and on-going rural and urban road projects across the state.

He said: “In decades to come, Kwarans will remember Governor Abdulrazaq as a leader who restored the glory of the past, gave workers their due at the right time, catered for the weak and vulnerable segments of the society, empowered women and the youths, worked to keep the gains of today and prepared for the future.”

Fagbemi said the party won 100 percent in the elections not because it was perfect but because “We are obviously pro-masses, we develop every part of the state, we are responsive to the yearnings of the people, and we empathise with the people within the resources available to the state.”
