Human Rights Activist and Pro-Chancellor, Chairman of the Governing Council of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Dr Tunji Abayomi, has eulogised Honourable Olubunmi Tunji Ojo, member House of Representatives, Akoko North West/North East Federal constituency for his giant strides at the Green Chamber.

Abayomi said successes made by Tunji-Ojo so far must be attributed to exemplary lifestyles of other past illustrious leaders of Okeagbe Akoko community, in Akoko North West local government area of Ondo state where he hails from.

“It is a fact that these leaders, including Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo have the love of Akokoland in their hearts. I remember well at TTC in Ikare(about 1961-1962) the struggles of our fathers for Akoko. Z.A Alabi as Secretary of Akoko Divisional Council. Baba J. O. Aliu was Principal of Teacher Training College (premises now occupied by NYSC) in Ikare. Chief S.A.Ogedengbe who was inspired by Awolowo to become the first lawyer in Akoko was the Parliamentarian etc.

”After this generation came Senator Ogunleye, Chief Rufus Giwa and Otunba Ayo Oladunni. Now we have Hon Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo popularly known as BTO. So why do notable folks come from Okeagbe? First, we derive inspiration from those who go before us.  Second, we never hate or work against one another. Third, we love Okeagbe and Akoko and always work for their greatness. This is the spirit of Okeagbe where four kings and kingdoms work as One,” he said.

He enjoined the lawmaker never to relent in advancing the will of the people for good.
