Human Rights Activist and Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council for Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Dr Tunji Abayom, has appealed to all delegates of All Progressives Congress (APC) in good conscience to decide and define the future for Nigerians by voting to ensure that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu emerges as APC presidential candidate for the 2023 presidential election.

Abayomi in a statement on his Facebook page said that if the APC and Nigerians give Ahmed Bola Tinubu the opportunity to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari, he will change Nigeria’s story for good.

According to him, “these are the compelling criteria that guided our decision and because Bola Ahmed towered above all other competitors we chose to support his aspiration.”

On a rational scale of 10, he said Bola Ahmed Tinubu scored at least 5 points more than the next best competitor. With Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Abayomi said, “Nigeria should hope for a great age as his testament.”

The Constitutional Lawyer said he stakes his honour and reputation in his support and urged all APC delegates to do the same.

Abayomi maintained that the compelling criteria that guided his decision to support the aspiration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu were that the first APC candidate must be a Party Man, which means he must know us, have interacted with us as a Party man, worked with us on Party Ends and Objectives, must have made noticeable and sufficient sacrifices for the Party.

“Second, he must have achieved or won regard through the fruitful exercise of executive office as a Leader not as a subordinate.

“Third he must have knowledge and capabilities especially as it relates to making Nigeria wealthy by materialising Nigeria.

“Fourth he must be demonstrably humanely disposed of and must be generous enough to explore new ideas even from sources that may least be expected.

“Fifth, he must be articulate, sufficient in standing to represent us in a world seminar.

“Sixth, a professional with a high capacity for innovation particularly in essential areas relating to the wealth of the nation such as the oil, power and education sectors.

“Seven, he must have a strong tendency to unite the peoples of Nigeria and in particular he must be a national citizen, and not a regional, region or ethnic bigot.

“Eight, his family must live in Nigeria and be noted for and with Nigeria.

*Nine, he or she must be a team player that inspires his co-servant leaders to constantly struggle for the high ends of the nation.

“Ten, he or she must possess uncommon intuition to constitute a great team to work with him for Nigeria,” Abayomi added.
