NNPC appoints Garba-Deen as corporate spokesman

Mr. Garba Deen Muhammed, President of Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE), is the new Group General Manager, Public Affairs Division of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

Garba Deen, a seasoned journalist who is also a firebrand newspaper columnist, takes over from Mr Ohi Alegbe, who is now Group General Manager, Corporate Social Responsibility.

The shake-up resulting from the reswtructuring of NNPC, also led to the redeployment of other top level management staff, while new appointments were also made.

Other GGM appointments announced by NNPC include, Strategy and Execution, who would be supporting the GEDs/Chief Executive Officers (COOs) Downstream, Surajdeen Afolabi; Refineries, Ugochukwu Afamefuna Vitalis; Gas and Power, Yusuf Matashi; Ventures, Ladipo Fagbola; Finance and Accounts, Ahmadu Sambo; Corporate Services, Modupe Bammake; Marine Logistics, Dalhatu Makama and Medicals, Oyetunde Olubunmi Oyekan.

Also appointed are Managing Directors, as Strategic Business Unit Heads: IDSL, Roland Ewubare; Retail, Esther Nnamdi-Ogbue; Nigeria Petroleum Marketing, Ahmed Farouk and as well as MD Port Harcourt refinery, Bafred Enjugu; Warri refinery, Adewale Ladenegan; and Kaduna refinery, Idi Mukhtar.

Other MDs are: Gas and Power Investments, Samuel Ndukwe; NGMC, Mazadu Bako; NGPTC, Babatunde Bakare, Properties, Danny Sokari George; Shipping, Saidu Abdulkadir; NETCO, Aliyu Sikiru; NOFS, Lawrencia Ndupu and Frontier Exploration Services, Rabiu Suleiman.

Also appointed are the MD Trading, Inuwa Waya; GGM COMD, Mele Kyari; Corporate Services Unit Heads, Finance and Accounts, Financial Controller, Mike Balami; GGM Treasury, Dapo Segun; GGM Liabilities Management, Godwin Okonkwo; NNPC Capital, Aliyu Zubair Sambo; MD Pensions, Danbello Naadiyalle and Izilien Okosun appointed GM Insurance.

Similarly, Dafe Sejebor was appointed GGM NAPIMS, GGM Govt. and Labour Relations, Ndu Aghumadu; GM Efficiency Unit, Bala Wunti; GGM CSLD, Chidi Momoh and GGM NNPC Leadership Academy, Ayatode Oyinlola.

Furthermore, Inuwa Danladi was appointed GGM ITD, GGM Human Resources, Adekemi Akitoye; GGM ETD, Farouk Sa’id; GM SCM, Sophia Mbakwe; GM Group Security, Sam Otoboeze; GM Health Safety and Environment (HSE), Maduebo Mbakwe and Eziaha Uchendu as GM Group Admin Services.

Also appointed are the Technical Adviser Gas, Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Abubakar Mai-Bornu Sadeeq and Engr. Nnamdi Ajulu, Consultant Refinery and Infrastructure, Ministry of Petroleum Resources.

According to the corporation, these appointments take immediate effect, while the new unit heads are expected to resume fully on April 1, 2016.
