Ekiti poll fraud: APC vows to resist attempts to influence investigation

Dr Tope Aluko, Ex-PDP scribe, Ekiti State

The Ekiti State chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) has vowed to resist any attempt to block the transparent investigation of the alleged June 21, 2014 governorship election fraud.

Reacting to Wednesday’s court arrest order of former state secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Dr Tope Aluko, APC said such a plan was capable of stoking anger among the citizens, and may cause a breakdown of law and order particularly among its members.

In a statement by APC Publicity Secretary, Hon Taiwo Olatunbosun on Thursday, the party said it was regrettable that the court was in a hurry to grant such a request by Governor Ayo Fayose who it claimed once stormed the court with thugs to assault a presiding judge sitting over his own perjury case.

Olatunbosun said if Aluko must be investigated for perjury, then other PDP members that testified at the tribunal, including the governor himself, must submit themselves to the charge of perjury since they presented the same evidence at the tribunal.
