The Super Eagles’ Chief Coach Sunday Oliseh has pointed out that his lads have no option but to record a win over their Nigerien counterparts in today’s Championship of African Nations’ (CHAN) game between both sides today.
Simultaneously, the Nigerien Coach, François Zahoui, has called on the Nigerian side to dare to bring it on, as his lads fear no foe in the tournament.
According to Oliseh, though he has warned his side to be cautious, what is paramount is that Nigeria picks the three points in today’s group opener against the Mena of Niger Republic at the Kigali Regional Stadium.
“We are ready for our game against Niger. Every player in my team is match-fit and ready to give his very best in this tournament.
“We have put in adequate preparations and we have been very lucky with injuries too.
“Let Nigerians continue to support Super Eagles and we will deliver by the special grace of God,” Oliseh said during his pre-match briefing Sunday.
Austin Obaroakpo is suspended for the game and will be replaced with any of Jamie Alimi, Stephen Eze, Samson Gbadebo and Kalu Orji, all in line to fill the position.
For Zahoiu, his side can beat Nigeria today.
The Mena lost to Nigeria in a friendly late last year 2-0 in Port Harcourt, but, in his opinion, it will not count when they meet this evening.
“We are not afraid ohf Nigeria. We know they have a strong team, but they are beatable,” he said.
Nigeria who came third at the last edition of the competition two years ago in South Africa head into the game as the overwhelming favourites.
