2023: Peter Obi leads by 75% in fresh poll featuring Osinbajo, Tinubu, Saraki

The poll was started by a UK based Nigerian medical doctor, Olufunmilayo Harvey, in reaction to a survey conducted by IFP&G which said Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is preferred by the majority of Nigerians in the next election. Although Peter Obi was not featured in that poll.

Former governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, is currently leading in the first round of a seven days Twitter poll by a wide and decisive margin of 75%.

Obi is seeking the ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to fly its flag in the 2023 election. But while the party’s delegate make the decision in the coming days, Nigerians on Twitter have tipped him as the favourite presidential hopeful to replace President Muhammadu Buhari in Aso Villa next year May.

Although Peter Obi was not featured in that poll.

In the new Twitter poll, Peter Obi was squared against Osinbajo, former Lagos State Governor Bola Tinubu and former Senate President Bukola Saraki. Twitter poll can only accommodate four options.

The pollster says the choice of Saraki instead of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, was based on the choice of Northern Elders Forum nominating Saraki as the preferred presidential candidate of the North.

In the first four hours of the poll, of the 16,553 respondents who participated so far, 74.9% chose Peter Obi as their choice in the 2023 poll. Osinbajo trail behind by 15.8%. Tinubu came distant third by 6.5%, while Saraki finished last with 2.8%.

The poll continues in the next six days on the Twitter handle of @DrOlufunmilayo.
