2019: Group drums support for Duke, Gabam presidential ticket

Bauchi State  Support Organisation has solicited support for Presidential candidate of Social Democratic Party (SDP), Mr Donald Duke, and his running mate, Alhaji Shehu Gabam.

The state Coordinator of the group, Mr, David Daure, made the appeal in a meeting in Bauchi weekend.

“We are calling on Nigerians to come in their large number and support the presidential candidature of Duke and Gabam come 2019,” he said.

He described the former governor of Cross River State (Duke) and his running mate as detrabilised Nigerians that could serve the citizens better.

His words:  “Duke is a detrabilised Nigerian who should be supported for the interest of the country. Duke and his running have all the experience to deal with the crises across the country, tackle the economic situation, get soldiers motivated and get Nigeria’s credit system working.

“If you give them the chance he will provide enabling environment to turn gas into power.”

He called on  all people in the North East and Nigerians to support Duke/ Gabam for president as it would solve the leadership challenges in the country.

Also, the Youth leader of SDP Bauchi State, Mr. Mohammed Sani, said that Duke was the best governor during the Olusegun Obasanjo regime from 1999.

“He transformed the entire Cross River State and turned Calabar into merger city. He was the best performing governor, who didn’t discriminate.

People should rally round the former governor of Cross River State since he is the political giant and administrator per excellence.

“Our Nigeria of today is not the same with Nigeria of yesterday. The kind of challenges we are facing today are not same with the ones we faced some years back,” he said.

He said that Nigeria needed courageous people that would address its challenges, stressing that Duke was one.

On her part, the Women leader of the group, Mrs Yemi Medule, said that Duke and his running mate have the exposure and the education to run the country for the betterment of the citizens.

“These are people that established themselves and are indeed household names in Nigerian politics,” she said.
