The 2017 budget report was listed in the order paper to be laid before the Senate on Thursday, but the Committee on Appropriation failed to present it.
However, the Senate gave the assurance that it would be laid before lawmakers on Tuesday, May 9, and also passed next week.
Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, who presided over plenary, says the Committee on Appropriation is putting finishing touches to the budget for its presentation and passage in the coming week.
He also says Nigerians should not panic over the delayed passage of the budget, insisting that the delay will not affect government business.
President Muhammadu Buhari had on December 14, 2016 presented a N7.29tn budget before a joint session of the National Assembly.
