Maisie Williams, who plays Arya Stark, in the fantasy series, Game of Thrones, has revealed her battle with low self-esteem,
The star recently confessed the difficulty of stardom in a podcast show, Happy Place.
She confessed how social media’s ‘constant feed’ harmed her psyche and caused her to have self-hatred.
“It got to a point where I’d be in a conversation with my friends and my mind would running and running, and I’d be thinking about the stupid things I’ve said in my life,” she said.
Williams went on to share how she learned to dig deeper and work towards improvement.
“A soon as you start digging, and start asking yourself bigger questions than ‘why do I hate myself’? It’s more, ‘why do you make yourself feel this way’? The answers to all of these questions are within you,” the star said.
Although her self-validation has improved, she admits that it’s a battle she still struggles with.
“There was a period of time I was really sad and then I sort of came out of that. It’s now terrifying that you’re ever going to slip back into it, and I think that’s something I am really working on,” Williams said.
