Ezekwesili to lead conversation on credible elections at Soyinka 85 birthday

Presidential candidate of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN) in the 2019 election and senior economicadvisor, Africa Economic Development Policy Initiative (AEDPI), Obiageli Ezekwesili, will lead a conversation on credible elections and good governance at a lecture to mark the 85th birthday of Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka.  

Ezekwesili’s experience in the last election is expected to shape the conversation which is built around thee theme: ‘Rethinking credible elections, accountable democracy and good governance in Nigeria.’

The lecture series is an  annual event and this will make it the 11th which is scheduled to hold on Saturday, July 13 at the MUSON Centre, Onikan.

Ezekwesili, will be speaking along with others chosen from relevant sectors on the theme.

The panel will discuss the urgent need to reconsider Nigeria’s election process in view of its complexities, how to make sure that governance becomes accountable and propound ways to make the people emerge as the greatest beneficiaries of democracy in Nigeria.

The critical role of the media in delivering good governance to the people will also be discussed.
